Newcomers are important to the economic and cultural future of Niagara. However, for internationally trained professionals the process to transfer education and work experience to the same profession in Canada can be both confusing and discouraging. The Welland Heritage Council & Multicultural Centre has a new program to provide support to anyone living in the Niagara Region.

The Niagara Foreign Credential Recognition Program can assist with the process of getting foreign credentials assessed through referrals and advocacy as needed. Once you know how your credentials compare with the Canadian equivalent, we will help you to learn the necessary steps to be able to re-enter that career or a close alternative. If financial assistance is necessary to be able to have your credentials assessed or to take any additional classes or licensing exams, the Welland Heritage Council & Multicultural Centre also offers a loan opportunity for financially eligible individuals through our partnership with Meridian Credit Union.

If you are an internationally trained professional seeking to re-enter your profession in Canada, or you know someone who is. please let us know if we can be of assistance.
