A Call for Action: Strategic Planning Session for the Niagara Suicide Prevention Coalition

The Niagara Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSPC) was formed in 2003 due to the concerns regarding the number of suicides in the Niagara Region. The NSPC is a partnership of representatives from various health, education, social service, faith, and private sector organizations working collaboratively to address prevention, intervention, and postvention aspects of suicide.

The purpose of the NSPC is to build strong community partnerships that will work together to continue to implement the comprehensive suicide prevention strategy that was developed to meet the needs of all Niagara residents.

We need your help.

Join us on May 11, 2016 for a strategic planning meeting and help Niagara become a suicide safer community. A brief overview of the regional strategy as well as short and long term goals will be discussed.

At the end of the strategic planning sessions, you will be asked to become a member of the coalition. Members are asked to commit to a minimum of a one year term and attend prescheduled coalition meetings. Members will also be asked to join one of the working groups identified during the strategic planning session. Community members, including students, professionals and person’s with lived experience are welcome. Persons with a research and evaluation, marketing or media background are encouraged attend.

The meeting will take place from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and be held at 3350 Schmon Pkwy Unit #1 (under the “for lease” sign) in Access Line Community Room B.  You can register by emailing nspcc@live.ca or click here for more details.
