The Niagara Transit Commission Board approved the Transit Plan 10-Year Investment and Growth Strategy (2026-2035) in principle at its June 17, 2025 meeting.

Grounded in community feedback, data analysis and best practices, the Transit Master Plan identifies priority investments in service enhancement and infrastructure. The plan is broken into three distinct stages, reflecting a responsible investment approach. Each stage is carefully designed to be financially viable, with affordability guiding the pace of the plan’s improvements. The goal is to create a more responsive, efficient and inclusive transit system that supports growth, fosters connectivity and promotes independence for all users.

Key features of the Transit Master Plan include:
– Harmonization of service hours across the network
– Ensuring equitable access to Specialized Transit to align with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) requirements
– Expanded and more frequent service across local and regional routes
– A phased implementation approach to align with growth and funding opportunities
