Workshop for Educators: Tinkering With Wood

October 22, 2019 @ 6:00 pm
3340 Schmon Pkwy
Thorold, ON L2V 4Y6

Have you been hearing about ‘Tinkering’, ‘Tinker Labs’, ‘Tinker schools’ and so on, and wondered what all this Tinkering is about? Well if so, this three-part ‘Tinkering Series’ is for you.

The series will provide opportunities for educators to explore what tinkering is (chances are that you are already doing it) and how educators can intentionally incorporate tinkering into your early learning and child care programs.

This session will focus on reviving the ‘lost art’ of utilizing wood and woodworking in early learning and child care programs, and how educators can ‘bring it back’ into their practice.

This session will take place off-site in a dedicated woodworking environment and will include using real tools and consider health and safety, and risk benefit analysis.

This event is hosted by the Early Childhood Community Development Centre (ECCDC).
