Ohnia:kara (Mohawk for ‘neck between two bodies of water’) is a local grassroots initiative aimed at bringing the UNESCO Global Geopark brand to Niagara. Our policy brief introduces this relatively new concept to Niagara stakeholders and answers the question: ‘What is a geopark, and how might it enhance an already popular tourism destination?’

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion and open Q & A. Light refreshments will be served.

This is an exciting opportunity to highlight the geological uniqueness that is Niagara and we hope discussions from this presentation will help move the initiative forward within the community.

Please RSVP to Carol Phillips at cphillips3@brocku.ca.

This event is hosted by the Niagara Community Observatory.
