With the launch of A Food Policy for Canada and a federal election on the horizon, there’s no better time to look back on what’s been done to advance policy around poverty reduction and food, and look forward to what may come next.

Join Community Food Centres Canada and policy experts from Maytree, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and Food Secure Canada to navigate three key policies currently in play: the Poverty Reduction Strategy, the Healthy Eating Strategy, and A Food Policy for Canada. Find out what these policies entail, what their impact could be, and what the next government should do to build on these actions.

Panelists will also delve into what you can do to keep food security on the federal agenda over the next four years.

Panelists:

  • Hannah Aldridge (Policy Analyst, Maytree)
  • Manuel Arango, MA, MHA (Director, Policy, Advocacy & Engagement, Heart and Stroke Foundation)
  • Jennifer Reynolds (Institutional Food Program Manager, Food Secure Canada)
  • Sasha McNicoll (Policy Manager, Community Food Centres Canada)
