ASIST is a two-day workshop that provides practical training for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

Participants in the workshop learn how to:

  • Recognize invitations to help
  • Reach out and offer support
  • Review the risk of suicide
  • Apply a suicide intervention model
  • Link people with community resources

Registration includes two days of instruction, workshop materials, a comprehensive book, and a wallet card. Certificate is received upon completion of workshop, at the discretion of trainers based on appropriate participation. Learning formats include use of simulations, role-playing, group discussions, etc. Attendance is required for full two days to receive certificate. Participants are responsible for their own refreshments and lunch.
