Alcohol and Drugs on Campus: What Students and Staff Have to Say

February 20, 2018 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
HC Link

This webinar will focus on perceptions, motives, and patterns of use of alcohol and other substances among post-secondary students in Canada.

Recommendations and potential tools to address excessive drinking and substance use on Canadian campuses will be discussed. The webinar will feature two qualitative research studies conducted by CCSA on several campuses in 2017.

Additionally, PAD will share the results of their recent project, done in collaboration with the University of Waterloo, to develop health promotion messages that resonate with undergraduate women about the association of alcohol consumption and breast cancer risk. The findings of this project suggest that educating students about specific health risks not typically associated with alcohol may be an effective way to promote contemplating reduced alcohol consumption.

This webinar is hosted by HC Link.
