Community partners are invited to help support raising awareness about HIV and showing unity in our community by sending delegates from their agency on November 25th to attend the launch of AIDS Awareness Week in St. Catharines.

December 1st is International AIDS Awareness Day and Positive Living Niagara hosts a variety of events throughout the Region during the week prior to raise awareness about HIV in Niagara. The week of activities kicks off on November 25th with a flag raising at St. Catharines City Hall, followed by Red Scarf distribution and reception at Silver Spire United Church.

Agencies, clients, community members, media and members of the government are invited to come together to recognize this important day and the impact of HIV on the lives of many in our community.

Agenda:
11:00 a.m. – meeting with the Mayor at St. Catharines City Hall for flag raising that kicks off AIDS Awareness Week
11:30 a.m. – we will blanket all of St. Paul Street (St. Catharines) in red! Red scarves will be tied around the trees and lampposts along St. Paul Street. The scarves are there for people to take in the following days, providing both awareness and warmth!
12:00 p.m. – reception at Silver Spire Church where we will gather to warm up with a light lunch

Agencies are asked to email Wendy Matthews at wmatthews@positivelivingniagara.com before November 18th to let Positive Living Niagara know if you will be sending delegates to support this event.

This event is hosted by Positive Living Niagara.
