Community partners are invited to help support raising awareness about HIV and showing unity in our community by sending delegates from their agency on November 28th to attend the launch of AIDS Awareness Week in Niagara Falls.
December 1st is International AIDS Awareness Day and Positive Living Niagara hosts a variety of events throughout the Region during the week prior to raise awareness about HIV in Niagara. The week of activities kicks off on November 28th with a flag raising at Niagara Falls City Hall, followed by Red Scarf distribution and reception at Niagara Falls Community Health Centre.
Agencies, clients, community members, media and members of the government are invited to come together to recognize this important day and the impact of HIV on the lives of many in our community.
11:00 a.m. – meeting with the Mayor at Niagara Falls City Hall for flag raising that kicks off AIDS Awareness Week
11:30 a.m. – we will blanket all of Queen Street in red! Red scarves will be tied around the trees and lampposts along Queen Street. The scarves are there for people to take in the following days, providing both awareness and warmth!
12:00 p.m. – reception at Niagara Falls Community Health Centre where we will gather to warm up with a light lunch
