SUMMARY:CLSA Webinar Series: Factors associated with developing high nutrition risk
DESCRIPTION:High nutrition risk — the risk of poor dietary intake and nutritional status — is present in one-third of community-dwelling Canadians aged 45 and older. High nutrition risk can lead to frailty\, hospitalization\, poor quality of life\, malnutrition\, and death. Research exploring the factors associated with high nutrition risk can help inform policies and programs designed to prevent the development of high nutrition risk and provide guidance on who should be screened proactively and for early intervention. \nJoin us during National Nutrition Month\, on Tuesday\, March 19 at noon\, for the next CLSA Webinar\, presented by registered dietician Dr. Christine Mills\, a Provost’s Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Kinesiology & Health Sciences at the University of Waterloo. This presentation will explore social\, demographic\, and health factors related to the development of high nutrition risk using baseline and first follow-up waves of CLSA data. A question-and-answer period will follow.
