DESCRIPTION:Co-Presented by: Sydney Kopp Richardson (Director of SAGE USA’s National LGBTQ+ Elder Housing Initiative) & Brad Lawrence (General Manager of the Village of Winston Park Retirement Residence in Kitchener) \nSydney will discuss the housing barriers facing LGBTQ+ elders as well as the model of affirming affordable housing and other key considerations to address housing barriers. \nBrad believes that creating a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ seniors in retirement communities takes more than hanging a rainbow flag. He started Code Rainbow in 2017\, inviting staff and residents to participate in positive training\, and attend Pride events hosted in the community and at Winston Park.
