DESCRIPTION:The Empathy Effect: Countering Bias to Improve Health Outcomes presents an extensive research base on the importance of empathy and the harmful impacts judgement has on individual outcomes. This training focuses on practical skills that learners can bring to their daily work immediately. \nThe EE workshop is based on three foundational premises:\n*Empathy is healing and judgment is harmful\,\n*Vulnerable populations experience greater harm by judgment and lack of empathy\, and\n*We all have judgments\, and we can learn to mitigate them. \nParticipants will learn an effective empathy conveyance model that includes six essential techniques\, each of which is treated in detail and with learner participation.
